A wonderful French viola bow made by the master bow maker Francois Peccatte.

This bow is mounted with a silver frog made by Peccatte with a later French silver button. The stick is made from a glorious dense ironwood, a wood that we particualrly like for viola and cello bows and is very often used in France around the middle of the 19th Century.

It draws an extremely rich, creamy and warm tone, with plenty of control and just the right amount of sprightly character as and when you need it.  A great bow for a progressing professional or up and coming student.

The weight is 70 grams.

Francois Peccatte, Mirecourt circa 1845
