A very fine German cello made by Walter Dolling in 1926.

Dolling is a name synonymous with quality instrument making in Germany, the Dolling family were exceptional makers throughout the 19th and 20th Centuries, and Markneukirchen of course being known as the German Cremona for violin making.

This cello is no exception, made as a copy of a Stradivarius using very choice maple with a prominent flame and a rich, deep, luxuirous oil varnish.

The tone is very mature, deep and warm.  It has a very sophisticated sound and would be very well suited to an advancing student.

The length of the back is 760 mm.

Walter Dolling, Markneukirchen 1926
